SUPPORT AND ADVOCACY FOR SEXUAL ABUSE SURVIVORS
Day One’s mission is to “reduce the prevalence of sexual abuse and violence, and to support and advocate for those affected by it.” As the only organization in Rhode Island devoted to providing comprehensive services to support adult and child victims of sexual assault, Day One provides an invaluable and unique range of services, including:
Individual, family and group therapy
Trauma-processing yoga groups
Teen and adult survivor groups

Day One’s role in the Rhode Island community is central to its mission; using a collaborative approach, Day One works with lawmakers, medical providers, law enforcement, educators and others to advocate for victims and prevent further abuse. In addition to working with those affected by sexual abuse, Day One’s mission is to reduce the prevalence of sexual abuse and violence in our community.
Day One believes there is always hope and approaches survivors non-judgmentally with the believe that respect is a right of everyone. The 24-hour Helpline is staffed by advocates that provide victims with all of their options, from legal and clinical needs to emotional support.
Day One works to address problems that affect our Rhode Island community, including college sexual assault and the commercial sexual exploitation of children. In addition to its normal range of services, Day One has developed protocols to address both issues and partner with members of our community, including the our colleges and universities.
